Just my opinion but unless you are going to shoot thousands of rounds a month 1050 is overkill. Dillon considers it "commercial" equipment and doesn't warranty it like other presses. Love my 650 though. What do you plan on reloading?

I currently use a hornady progressive press to load (or process brass for): 223, 308, 30-06, 300HH mag, 45-70, 6.5 CM, 30-30, 270 win, 22-250, 300 WM, .380, 9mm, 38, 357, 44 mag, 45 ACP, 45 colt, maybe a couple others. I also have a hornady single stage press that I load my more accurate stuff on. I trim on the press for several rifle calibers with a dillon RT-1200. I am not sure I "need" a 1050, and maybe a 650 will do just fine. I am just not certain there is enough benefits in a 650 to "upgrade" from my hornady now that I have most of its bugs figured out. I was considering a 1050 as much for the on press swaging of 223, 308 and 9mm as much as anything. I doubt I would spend the time and money to have any other calibers setup for that machine. Maybe I am overthinking it, but hornady customer service has pissed me off this week and I am not opposed to never dealing with that again. How is your 650 setup? Do you have both case and bullet feeders? I would like to see one in action before I make a decision, do you have any bulk loading planned soon?
Thanks, Jason

I don't really bulk load. I have the case feeder not the bullet feeder. I'd guess I'd be the slowest operator you would see on a Dillon. Maybe somebody else will chime in later. I've never had or heard any thing bad about Dillon customer service.

I load on a 550B and really like it. I use it as a progressive press for .223 and pistol ammo and as a single stage for my hunting rifle ammo.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Rl550C will do you. 1050 for high volume ammo. Thanks for the reply, I think I would have to at least have a 650, I dont think there is room on a 550 for a trimmer? There is barely enough on my hornady, and I think it is a little bit larger diameter circle. Maybe I need to take a look at a 650, I load on a 550B and really like it. I use it as a progressive press for .225 and pistol ammo and as a single stage for my hunting rifle ammo. That makes for a complete setup, I too have never heard a bad thing about dillon, my only concern with their products is lack of a close dealer. I dont know of a single dillion dealer nearby. Thanks for the info, Jason

Only one I have ever seen, it was just outside of ashland Ky. I am going to try to get a look at a 650 in action, it may just be my next press.. Jason

Thinking back on when I was in Shooters Warehouse north of Cullman, he had some presses set up in there for customers to pull the handle on but I don't remember if he had any Dillon gear
