I had a nice bachelor group of bucks hanging around but I haven't gotten any pictures since the end of September. I'm gonna hunt Friday evening and Saturday morning. I'm not sure about a name. I'm sure we can come up with something goofy... how about you Jaredhunts. you got any gooduns?

I've got an SOA archery hunt at Fred T Stimpson lined up for the end of next week. I have not gotten the section info I'll be hunting yet. Looks to be rainy and of course warm.

I hunt behind my house in shelby county. I joined a club in springville this year . I'm a long time partial member on a 550 acre lease in greene/Tuscaloosa co. with 2 other guys. I'll probably go to Barbour wma for their February hunt. I mainly joined the springville club for something close to hunt because I have 2 in dippers at the moment.

You got your handful then. How do you think the hunting will be springville? I have worked in that area before and it seems a little hilly. Maybe even mountainous.

Its rugged for sure! I haven't ran any cameras on it but I have some what high Hope's for it. There where a couple big bucks killed there last year. I'm gonna do a couple blind hang and hunts over the next few days . Maybe I'll get lucky

Yeah man . If there is a spot available I'll let you know. It's a pretty sweet spot. Its 1900 acres 15 members $1250 year round access. 3 Acer lake old house with power and water. It's got to be 90% hardwoods .

A guy I went to school with is the lease holder. He had been doing work for the land owner for a few years when the opportunity came about.

An 8 pt last year I missed not only once but twice finally showed his face again Saturday and Sunday afternoon, of course during the weekend I decide not hunt due to family gatherings. He’s a solid 4.5 year old 9 point. Makes me sick that I wasn’t in the stand but I will be the rest of this week after work.

Only reason I know it’s him is due a scar he has on left side. Leftover from one of my shots last year

Hunted yesterday, 2 does and a fawn. Had them at 13 yards in front of the blind but got to save these babies for the rut this year on this property.

I'm sitting at the dr office. fixing to have my vasectomy. I would much rather be sitting in a tree stand..

I'm 25 ft up a tree, the wind is from the east and it's been raining most of the day. I've seen a tiny dose so far too small to shoot. Feels like the temp is dropping, I can see fog out in the woods starting to rise. Looks to be a better day tomorrow. The rain has made driving a pita! The mud is 6 inches deep where I am on section 9 at stimpson. I wanted to explore more today. Oh well the ranger told me a good place to go(if i can only get there). The winds will change to a more favorable direction for tomorrow and Saturday. Good luck to the rest of team 9!

No joy today. Checked out at ranger station an they only had one 104lb doe today on section 6. Oh well tomorrow is another day!

Friday was the first day I could hunt after having a angioplasty on my legs (kinda blocked up). Shot at 4:57 and
she (80lbs.) only went about 60 yards. Saw does with yearlins but no bucks.

Been working too much and not hunting enough. Have seen does and young bucks almost every hunt but it seems as if those big boys know every time I’m there they don’t follow suit with the others like how I have them patterned on camera. Getting up to almost 70 degrees is still too hot for me

Was out on the cahaba for a morning hunt today. Between myself and a buddy we saw zero, zilch, nada. We did not hear a single shot. Dang moon isn't helping much. Had to head home, it's my son's 12th birthday and wanted to spend some time with him. We're going out for another half day tomorrow.

Well, I'm back out this morning with orion the hunter shining bright above. Maybe it will be better this morning? I've heard 2 shots so far. I think one was my buddy i put closer to the river. Then i heard another shot on the other side of me. I'm in the middle it seems. I've set up on top of a wide ridge where they clear cut a few years ago. I'm hoping i am between the deer and their bedding spot? Anyway just checking in. God does it feel good out here!

Any of you fellas seeinG deer? This cold weather really has them moving here. Saw one last night while coming off stand that appeared to be a 4/5 year old buck. Couldn't see the horns but he was definitely a mature deer. My wife creamed an eight point last night too. Sucker crapped all down the passenger side of the car.

Rut must be on in Grady. It is the dreaded dead December here. You can't see a deer during daylight here.

Dang it man . Hate that about your wife's car. I've been wide open at work since Thanksgiving but I'm about to have some time to hunt.im shutting it down after next week. The rut is about to kick of on my place in Tuscaloosa. ready to do some rattlin' ! we got some pictures of some studs.

I've been working like a rented mule trying to get caught up so I can hunt some over the next 2 weeks. Saw 2 does this morning. I have some nice bucks showing up in my back yard. dang wife and kids wont let me shoot "the yard deer"...lol.

well deer movement has been picking up here in shelby co. I've seen several bucks in the last week . I haven't been to my place in springville since Thanksgiving. probably should not have joined that club. good guys and good land but I have better hunting out my back door. Heading to greene county asap. Bucks are chasing hard there. How about yall ?

Hunted most of last week in Owassa. Not a lot of movement and you hear hardly any shots.
Did miss a nice 8 pt. but that was it. Maybe the cooler weather and no RAIN will get them
moving a little more this weekend.

Oh yeah, cooler temps on the way. Drier weather to. Saw an excellent rub today. May slip in this evening but it all depends on the rain.

one of my friends killed a giant 177" 11 point 3 miles from my house this morning. Its and absolute beast ! sure would like to go hunting tomorrow rather than work.

He's a really good guy too. Sure am happy for him. it came off of family property. They have killed some great bucks off that property but nothing that big..

I did. I shot the wrong deer last year, missed him this year, and finally killed him. It was the craziest hunt ever. I knew unless I went close to his bedding area and made him mad I wasn't gonna kill him. So I went in close and snort weezed a few times and he came in madder than hell.

Well fellas, we should have gotten some more points today. Unfortunately, for what I can think is a time frame of twenty years, I MISSED. Great buck too. He played peek a boo for about ten minutes and finally came close enough for me to take a shot. Ugh. Well maybe he will mak it through and be a real dandy next season.

Well turns out I didn't miss. Dont know the rules on this. Crap.
