My best friend has had a pretty crappy year hunting among other things. He had missed a couple of nice bucks on our lease. Come to find out he had a bad scope on his rifle. My friend was gonna get a new scope, instead he decided to take his dad’s old rifle, and put a new scope on it. His father had past away last November and it had really tore him up. So I decided to take him to my lease yesterday with his dad’s rifle. He scored! Not a monster, but it will be a great memory for both of us. After reflecting on yesterday, I have come to find out that this is really what hunting is all about. His neck is red as Alabama clay Now he's goin' home this time to stay Where the roots run deep on the family tree And the tractor rolls through the fields of green
