I just bought a generator and mounted to a 45 gallon tub from Home Depot.
Ozone generator $49.00
Tub $40

If you. Bought scent crusher it would be $249

Not sure if works . Giving it a shot.

Looked into a diy setup myself. Just decided to play wind and thermals. Milkweed is your best friend

Be careful with them, they destroy elastic.

That being said, yes, I use one

I did some research on them, it seems there is legitimate health risk while using them if improperly set up, that was enough for me so I never bought one. I was told amazon has them much cheaper,

Completely ruined all of my first lite camo.
It’ll make your throat sore too if you’re near it.
It works but not worth ruining my clothes.

I got a commercial unit from amazon last year. I mainly use it for my truck the night before hunts and will hang my clothes up in there once every other week or. Haven't seen any issues yet. I would never get in a confined space with a unit running however.

Thanks for the info guys! I got my unit in and that night my wife had been at my parents house where Dad was cooking fish, her shirt was filled with the fish smell, so when she got home I put her shirt in a rubbermaid box with the unit for a test run. After 15 minutes I checked the shirt. Not a hint of fish smell. So I'm pretty convinced that it's a real scent killer. I've watched a few reviews on YouTube and I think it's at least gonna be something I can treat my clothes with before hunting. I'm concerned about the "ruining my clothes" info so I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

Ruined a good pair of expensive Cabela's bibs, the stuff is caustic to your throat, and I still got winded. It works really well taking the stink out of cars and old homes, but I won't ever be using it on my hunting clothes again. Waste of time and money.

How did it ruin them? Does it deteriorate the fabric or what? Would it matter if the generator wasn’t right under or over the clothes? Was there anything you could have done differently to get the advantage of the scent killing without the negitive of however it ruins clothes?

Well in my case.. my first lite pants are merino wool and there was enough rubber and elastic on the waistband that it pretty much turned a size 34 into a 42.
Also, I had a Sitka lightweight shirt that was done about the same.
The rubber on my headlamp I used was eat up after about two treatments.

Here is what I’ve learned and my advice. Do not store your clothes in the ozone box or bag or whatever you will be using. Run it for about 5-10 minutes max then get them out of it and put them somewhere else.

If you have cotton only or material that has no stretching properties then you may be ok. Just keep the rubber to an absolute minimum or it’s going to ruin.

Also the trait being sore I thought maybe it was just me but had a hunch it was the generator... so when a buddy was with me I treated his clothes too in the truck and he thought he had strep throat..

I just wouldn’t use it in a vehicle.

definatly bad for throat and lungs we use an industrial unit to deodorize apartments when certain people move out just walkinh in to unplug it after its been running all day is enough to leave you with a scratchy throat definately kills odors better than anything ive ever seen its amazing to smell the before and after

Thank you, this is great information to have as I had no clue! Most of my hunting clothes are scent-lok and will have some elastic. I found this video on YouTube and thought it was a good explanation: https://youtu.be/hOKVlaLo--M

From the EPA website....."When inhaled, ozone can damage the lungs. Relatively low amounts can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and throat irritation. Ozone may also worsen chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and compromise the ability of the body to fight respiratory infections. People vary widely in their susceptibility to ozone. Healthy people, as well as those with respiratory difficulty, can experience breathing problems when exposed to ozone."

I've been using the scent crusher bag for about 2 years. Learned about the elastic/rubber part, I know it smells funny when its running, but haven't noticed the scratchy throat deal.
How about the ones they sell that plug into the cigar lighter/power outlet in a vehicle? If they cause respiratory problems that would not be good.
