Do any of y’all check your speed through a chrony? Or do you think your getting the advertised ibo?

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I think ibo is just more less a sales pitch, I shoot a 29” draw and I’m getting 285 with my old bow. More than plenty for deer, I’m not going to shoot over 35 yds at them anyway. Once last that they have a tendacy to duck the string.

Advertised IBO speeds are determined by shooting a 350gr. arrow at 70# with the draw set at 30” with nothing on the string.

Also set up in a mechanical rest with mechanical release so I’ve read, to take out as much human error as possible.

The IBO speed is a somewhat standard with poundage, arrow weight, and draw length. Each pound +/-, each grain arrow weight +/-, and each inch draw length +/- will have an effect on arrow speed. If you shoot less than the standard, you will shoot less arrow speed. My bows IBO speed is rated at 350. But I shoot less draw length by 1.5" (28.5 from the IBO 30") and that equals maybe 30 FPS less. I also shoot about 7 grains per pound.

speed is important if your shooting tournaments, a good broadhead ,sharp, put in the right spot, is what kills deer !!!!

Not to mention there can be a big difference between Chrono's being calibrated correctly or not

Fast enough to kill. That’s all I care about.
