It doesn't help Selma that the corp of engineers shut down commercial traffic on the river due to not maintaining the channel and basically shutting down the dams. Hard to have commerce on a dead river.

What are you calling the ice house neighborhood? Don't know the exact cross streets but it is to the right off Dallas Ave between the country club and downtown. Selma, is in a fairly good location for manufacturing, distribution etc. That being said, the labor market there would be questionable at best even though it would be cheap. You couple that with the crime and apparent questionable politics, you get an average household salary of 24K...which is real bad. That's what I mean. It has really got a few things going for it. Not far from the Montgomery airport. Geographically it is good, terrain wise it is fairly flat making site prep easy. Outside celebrity types need to stop making it a must stop photo-op and need to start making it a must invest place. Imagine what good could happen if Zuckerburg, Musk,Bezos,Oprah,Dr. Dre and JayZ each donated $10million into a boost Selma fund.

It would be pilfered and pissed away like all the rest. A city councilwoman used the shooting to call for higher taxes. Typical. They have raised taxes, created bonds, etc and the police department is always the last in line.

Some group that is an unbiased, well respected, good business sense. John Tireshop needs a new compressor and alignment rack. Give 75% of it as a gift, give the other 25% on a 2% interest note. Have a paint fund, partner with SW to get paint at cost and donate paint to churches and schools. I know I'm talking crazy talk but really would be great if the town wasn't used for photo-ops and was used for a place to donate serious funds to unbiased.

But the bottom line is the money is not being spent appropriately whether FD, PD, Sanitation, etc.

Still no word from Jawbone? David is fine just probably away from the computer. He no longer patrols. It was a younger guy, he’s stable and expected to make full recovery.

The couple has full support of their group. That is why I thought the Probate Judge race was so important. It would show it the people want a change or stay the same. They chose to stay the same.

Collier has requested help from the state. I wonder what kind of working relationship he has with the state? Word round the campfire he doesn’t even have a rapport with his department.

I've been talking about how bad Selma is every time the subject comes up. I think some may have thought I was exaggerating a bit. I wasn't.

Collier has requested help from the state. I wonder what kind of working relationship he has with the state? I’m not sure. But all he has to do is send a formal request to SBI. With this current shooting and with the past ones plus it seems to be a pattern I’m sure he’ll get it.

Lots of smiley court residents are employed their. Didn’t help the crime rate however
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

With this current shooting and with the past ones plus it seems to be a pattern I’m sure he’ll get it. I’m sure SBI is already involved in the investigation. But as far as help patrolling etc that’s not gonna happen. As far as bringing in the national guard, that’ll never happen either. It would be portrayed as racist and play right in to the hands of the powers that be. And by the way the officer shot was a black guy. Family man good dude.

I hope the national guard comes in and they institute martial law It won't happen, but the NG can be deployed without martial law. They are state militia reporting to the governor. Now, if they did, in fact, declare martial law, they could deploy Marines. But this is not a riot or a gang War. This is something else, like retribution. They need to find the root cause, and I bet that will lead straight to city hall.
