Well
It has worked in my county
The guys that were spreading them around was forced toi stop I hear. They have an aggressive trapping program in problem areas. Those remote cameras and traps are pretty nice.
We know spreading them was illegal but we know it happened. That's how they got started in the first place.

Yea my BIL is a game warden and showed me how he could watch and set the trap with his iPhone. It was pretty cool. I’ve never seen one while hunting in north al or southern middle Tn but they are closing in. I was surveying a 100 acre tract in Giles county a few months ago and the guys had free roaming pigs. They were like, “ yea we got about 15.” Nah, they had reproduced to about 60 and were everywhere. Strangest dang people, young really redneck guys that were gay and married to each other....

If y’all only understood why they did it you’d agree if you hate hogs. Several years ago there was only a handful of isolated populations of hogs in TN. They opened the door wide slap open and allowed the hunting of hogs statewide, even in areas without hog populations, just the way some of you think it should be. As a result hogs popped up all over the state from mass transport via vehicle. They gave the people an opportunity and they capitalized on it to its fullest. Remove the opportunity. Remove the problem. Promoting them is the best way to guarantee their spread. Seems like they are a little too late on that one
