How long do bucks continue to put on antler growth? I thought they were basically done by this point but i swear we got deer growing by the week.

not all herds and not all individuals run on the same time schedule. All of the deer on my place have good hard velvet, I'd say near completed growing. Except one and he has shed all his velvet and is clean.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

You can tell if hes still growing by the "bulb" on the antlers. If they have bulbs, they are still growing. If the build is gone, they are done

They ought to start shedding velvet here within the next week to ten days going by years past...….It's usually the very tail end of Sept or first days of Oct

Everyone's should be done growing by now. Ours shed the 3rd week of September normally.

Depends on where you are and when your rut is. The deer here, south Montgomery co, usually shed velvet Oct 7-15

id say its done growing at this point the horns are hardening and velvet is getting ready to come off. I killed an 8 point opening day about 4 years ago still in velvet but i think if i woulda missed him by one or 2 more days it would have been gone.
