Hate to hear that man. My sincere condolences.

Sorry to read this and thoughts and prayers for your family.

I was speaking with a friend the other day and telling him that when I was young, our dogs were work dogs (i.e. hunting dogs). I don't think I ever really got attached to them above using them for their purpose, I didn't have much in the way of feelings one-way or another about them, short of their ability to do the task that we fed and took care of them for.

As I got older, our pets became an integral part of our family and when something happened to them we grieved and mourned their loss as much a beloved family member.

Thanks guys. My wife was his lifeline. He took a lot of medicine as he aged but she alway's made sure he had it. She has taken it hard, he was her child. She had to work today shipping things all over and she told me that she shipped tears all over the world. Poor girl came home with his collar from the vet and cried herself to sleep Good dogs are hard to lose.

VERY sorry for y’alls loss. Dogs are amazing, and are truly man’s best friend.

I hate it Matt. Looks he had a retriever’s heart till the end.

One more and I 'll stop. The trip Texashuntress mentioned. He chewed through 2 leashes and chased the geese across the lake. We had to chain him to a fire hydrant with a log chain to keep him from drowning.
He chewed me out of a Townhouse and when I bought this house with a big fenced in back yard, as soon as I let him out he met me in the front. I put him back there again, checked gates same story, finally the 3rd time I watched him scale the fence like a Track star. I electrified it but he'd still slip out some times. He was run over, just skint. He ran off one Sunday and got shot by some idiot(edited for cussing), missed all vitals and had 22 bullet buried in his shoulder. He was nut's but you couldn't have a more loyal animal. He'd die for you and protected us that way. No one came in this house without a crotch sniff. That's how he checked. Godspeed Agustus.

Dang man I hate to hear this. I still remember the day you came and picked him up. Me and dad had just fed all the puppies and Beau the one we kept, started shitting in a circle about the time you pulled in the driveway. Lol that was a wonderful litter of pups.

Sorry for your loss Mangler. It was a blessing he was so loved.

So sorry, we have a 13 year old lab and she has been one of the best dogs ever. It'll be a sad day when she goes for sure.

Man this just hurts my heart. I'm so sorry for the loss of your loyal friend. In my opinion there's no greater friend than a good Lab.
