All of the information says that the best time of year to spray cogon is September, October and the first of November. I have a couple of clients that I sprayed under a cost share program last year, and it is due to be resprayed, cleanup, this year. I got a call from the county forester Friday and he said the program will end this coming Friday. Stupid bunch of crap.

Its a losing battle I am afraid Timber. I became aware of it a few years ago when a patch popped up on my place.When I knew what I was looking for it is everywhere.The last few years I have been doing a lot of work in the rural areas west of Gainesville and it is rampant. Its getting baled in hay then blowing out along the roads and spreading from there. Last few trips north I have been seeing more patches along I-10. Found out mine had spread from a property to the SW where a guy with a road construction business had dumped construction debris from who knows where.

And I thought the dang stuff was suppose to bloom in April, which it does, but I found a bunch of it blooming this weekend. It is suppose to be about 3% viable, but between the blooms and the roots it just propagates when it wants to.
