AlabamaHuntress posted in this thread earlier, not me.

Yes, DEADorALIVE is married to me.

Her husband may be on here, but there is no screen name coming to mind for him.

Have I cleared things up for you?

And Auburns sponsor is just as worthless.

The cultural war for America is WAAAAAAAYYY lost, it's long been over boys, drop your guns and live out your remaining days as best you can.

You're fighting:
The media at every level, (this you might could change)
most of the government at every level, (this you might could change)
the education system, (this you might could change)
global intrusion, (you ain't changing this)
the majority of humanity here and abroad, (you ain't changing this)

Humanity isn't getting better, there's not going to be a return to "Leave it to Beaver" America. If you don't think the slide in America is eschatological, then what is it????? What sort of unseen influence is making this happen??? And what in the world are you gonna do to stop it??? We say roughly 10% of the population is homosexual (I think it's vastly more, but anyway), so why would an entire country--it's media, it's government, it's entire vision and influence, go full-on spazmatic crazed blitzkrieg to champion it???? WHAT/WHO is pushing that agenda? When there's basically zero evidence of racism, why go full-on spazmatic crazed blitzkrieg to start a civil war again over it??? WHO is pushing that? Why would a country sell out everything, it's very soul, for a handful of social whims??? This Nike thing is a but a speck of sand on the sea of America's problem, and they're just one of literally innumerable companies who share the sentiment, move along fellas!!!!

So if you are facing a tuff fight it is better to just give up and give in? You have got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything.

Naw, and you know that's not what I said. Knowing your limitations is smart warfare too.

Read what you said - hard to fight laying on your back just giving up and giving in.

We get it Huntress. You support Nike and hate your veterans, the police and you country. Awesome....let me put that little winking face on there to wink

I support people's right to do what they want to regardless of if I believe in their cause or not. That's the point you all seem to miss....

Just as it's his right to do as he wants, it's the rights of those who disagree with him to voice their opinions and act accordingly as well. That's the point you and others seem to miss.

The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.

I read that a lot of the big name sports guys are buying loads of Nike stuff to keep the stock price up. How much can they buy?

Wouldn’t it be easier to buy Nike stock to keep stock price up?

Not only that, but financial results are posted quarterly so it wouldn't help stock price until like January..

If they post quarterly and we're in Q3, they should be reporting early in October?

It's not even close to "giving up and giving in", far from it. But sometimes you can just be a stubborn, hot-headed fool in an unwinnable fight. Joshm28 has a spin-off post about boycotting, he's making the same point I am.

They report 9/25. The numbers for Q3 were already locked in before the ad campaign was announced. Given the timing, I bet those numbers are going to be good.

Saw another stat about their accumulated financial impact for Nike through media exposure for positive, negative and neutral; this is determined by how many times the company's name and/or logo is mentioned in any way in mainstream and social media. It's a common practice for companies to measure these things, sorta like how Red Bull might measure its exposure during an F1 race or Under Armor during a college football game.

The number -- almost $180 million in exposure value in three days.

Folks may be boycotting, but Nike isn't going to sniff and whimper at that. This was a carefully calculate marketing plan that likely factored in how much of a stock hit they'd take before rebounding from it.

Phuck 'em, though.

i read the other day, basically said. Nike pays chinese women 20 cents an hour for 70-80 weeks to make shoes. Turns around and uses its profits to pay a millionaire, millions of dollars. To preach to me about social injustice. How ironic.

True, goodman. They use cheap labor overseas like many companies and then rake in profits here (and worldwide, for some companies).

Whenever anyone brings up the labor practices of Nike, Apple, others, the majority of the public ignores it. They don't give two chits about kids in Thailand making their shoes or Chinese women making their phone as long as they can get the products. Out of sight, out of mind.
