a railroad cross tie be bout the same and cost a lot less . gets you some screw in i bolts and chain it up . This is exactly what I use and it's still light enough that I can put it on top of the disc to transport to the next field.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

hell ,,, you need to adjust the back gains not to pile it up . running a harrow not level will cause that too . if it's fairly soft soil its a easy fix .

It’s a single gain 3 point hitch Taylor bog, cuts hard ground great but it can mess it up too yeah ,,,, throws the dirt out if i remember right . gets worst ever year . i'd get rid of it and go to a 5' heavy duty harrow if you could . imo , the best harrow has the cutting disk on the front gains and smoothing disk on the back . they break good and cover seed good .

The problem he is going to have is... he is using a bog disk. The ground is going to be pretty coarse behind that type disc for a drag of any type to do a whole lot of good at anything.
1) Get a finish disc for the second pass and you should be good. I like about 4 pieces of angle iron the width of the disc chained together trailing about 4ft behind the disc as a drag but you can use a drag board like Robert D is talking about above, you can use crosstie, fence, old tires, etc. It's all been done before.
2) More expensive option would be to follow up the bog disk with a cultivator and rolling basket or an arena renovator or something like that. Unverferth Perfecta or something like that maybe find something called a Do-All.
You can probably get it down to a couple passes if the bog disc cuts good on the first trip around but those are hard to deal with because of the exact issue you are having they only throw the dirt out from the center. But they cut. So there's that.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

It’s a single gain 3 point hitch Taylor bog, cuts hard ground great but it can mess it up too With a single gang you don't have many options. But using a hydraulic center link with a multiple gang disk can eliminate that issue. By moving a lever I can instantly change the cutting angle of my disk as needed.

It's a deer plot; it ain't gotta be perfectly level.

The guy that leveled the ground for my orchard had a big piece of Schedule 40 4" steel pipe. Two chains welded to it to keep it about 3 or 4 feet behind the disk, other end of the chains welded to the disk along with a couple shorter chains for tie-downs.

Wish I had a pic I could post but picture this. Two mount brackets welded on the sides of main frame about halfway front to back. The drag has two beams made of channel iron welded at a VERY shallow V angle. When in operating position one side of the V lays on or above the rear half of frame and the other sid of the V has a pair of 2x12's the width of the disc bolted to it. It drags the 2x12's at a shallow angle behind th disc.
When you don't want to drag you fold the thing back up and over the disc. The boards end up right over the top of the hitch and adds weight to the disc to help it penetrate. If we build it they will come.... PM me....

It's a deer plot; it ain't gotta be perfectly level. . The main problem was, the plot wouldn’t drain properly and ended up drowning out the seeds in spots all over the plot. , I can fix the ground pretty good just using the single gang bog but I have to half lap each pass then cut it at a different angle doing the same half lap Method. I take the angle out of the bog once the ground it cut up pretty good, , the bog doesn’t finish it like a disk but it’s usually good enough for me, it’s just super slow process. The problem is some of the other guys had used the bog and traveled the same path several times, not paying attention to what it was doing to the ground. I can’t even ride over it in my utv with out being buckled in.

Two chains welded to it to keep it about 3 or 4 feet behind the disk, other end of the chains welded to the disk along with a couple shorter chains for tie-downs. This is the exact setup we have on our disk and works pretty good. Light enough to pick up between plots and lay on top of the disk. To level better, it needs to be heavier, but then one man couldn't easily get it by himself.
