Does anyone on here have an idea why the JD 455G crawler\loader we have at the farm transmission light comes on and beeps? We have changed the fluid and filter, but it had no effect. It will go forward and backward but we dont want to use it until we know why it is blinking\beeping. We dont want to damage it.

We thought it might be a sensor or something like a wire that a rat chewed on, but we dont even know where to look for that.

It is a 1991 model that rarely gets used. But we just had some timber cut and we need it to clean up after the loggers.

It only has about 2000 hours on it.

It's ruined.
I'll give you $1000 for it.

I could not in good conscience sell it with the beeping\blinking.

Got to fix that first then we can talk about selling (or not selling). LOL.

I've always dealt with Beard Equip in Mobile on our heavy JD stuff on the sitework side. PM me, Ive got the contact number for one of their sales guys and he can put you in touch with someone in service that can talk you through trouble shooting it. Be happy to get you his number. Once you get the beeping fixed, I'll up my offer to $1500. I figured I'd have at least $250 in it to get the light off and beeping stopped. Still cant believe that scoundrel Outback trying to take you to the cleaners at $1000.

What did the fluid look like when you drained it? Any metal? Color?

Sumpter- if possible- take to them. You don't want to pay for a service truck to come to you.

PM replied. Hopefully it is something simple and they can walk you through trouble shooting it over the phone so that you'll at least know what youre dealing with on it.

Does it have a trans temp gauge and / or a pressure gauge?

It was a little dark but there was no filings in it.

It does but it reads in the normal range. That is another reason I think it is a sensor or wiring issue.

That's why I asked, I'd speculate if it has fresh fluid and filter , temps and pressures OK and it's shifting and pulling correctly it's an electrical problem . Nothing wrong with the tranny .
