Not certain just yet. Will either go on that new Tikka or the Model 7 I picked up. Could end up with two of the same scope. Seems like the size should fit the rifles both really well.

Have you looked through a 2.5-8x36? I've had a couple and now matter what rifle I put them on I just couldn't get comfortable behind that scope. Seems like I was always trying find the sweet spot between eye relief and proper focus. The 2.5-8x36 is my least favorite scope.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I haven't yet. Hmm seems like I should probably stop into a shop this upcoming week and look through one.
I have an old VariXII 2-7x32 sitting on my 35Rem, was thinking it would be pretty well similar.

BTW, I had a 1.75-6x35 that I used on a 375 H&H and my 35 Whelen that I like much better than the 2.5-8x36.

A 3x9x36 Zeiss diavari is much better. I've had a 2.5x8 Leupold and sold it. It was a decent scope but no Zeiss by a long shot

I'll have to look into the Zeiss.

This looks like an interesting scope from SWFA.

It’s real interesting until you get to the eye relief specs-

Please tell what’s not to like about 4” of constant eye relief?

I can’t seem to recall a time when I thought man I really wish this scope only had 2.5” of eye relief.

I hate to hear that. The Conquests have always been a favorite of mine. If you don't mind me asking, where was the scope bought? It may be worth sending back. Zeiss is usually pretty good about taking care of their customers.

I've used one for 15+ years , it's been on two different rifles. My son has one on his rifle as well that I mounted . I,we have never seen that problem. People can have complaints about Leuplods , but that's one I don't believe I've ever heard. Eye relief , focus and "eye box" are supposed to be one of Leupolds strong suits.

I have both a newer Leupold with the heavy duplex and a Zeiss 3-9x36. I like them both but for the last few minutes of daylight I prefer the Leupold with the heavy duplex . I've also never had any issue with the eye relief on the Zeiss I don't see how you can go wrong with either scope

I just got a Leopold VX Freedom 2-7x33 for my Marlin 1894. Very good scope for the money.

This thing has been derailed for the better so lets run with it.

I'm wanting lightweight, compact, 1" tube size, sub 40MM objective lens and not overly expensive.

Came across this scope. Needing two scopes right now I think it is outside my budget and also a few ounces heavier than the Leupolds.
https://swfa.com/vortex-1-5-8x32-razor-hd-lh-rifle-scope.html

Was wondering about going all the way down size wise but wonder about light draw. Something like a 1.5-5X20.

AU7MM08, I would suggest a Swaraovski Z3 3x9x36 with the #4 reticle. Shop around and you may get it for around $600 but I think its a very good scope and its compact size is just what your looking for.

I used a Leupold 1.5 - 5 for years, good scope and very clear. My son has a 1.75-6 with heavy duplex on a A-Bolt micro hunter and I really like it, I think it's the brightest of the bunch. Leupold VX3, 1.5-5, 1.75-6 or 2.5-8 with heavies are all great woods scopes .
