That gun has the old Walker style trigger. It is very adjustable. Take it to a good gunsmith (like gundoc) to get the trigger adjusted.

I'm foreseeing that being the case with this one. Limbsaver, trigger, VX3i 2.5-8X36 and figure out its favorite flavor of ammo. Not sure what I'm going to do about scope mounting. Stay with the pic rail or go another route.

I put Timneys in all of my rifles and shotguns. I put Talley rings on my Model Sevens. My Model Seven in 7-08 shoots 120 grain NBT and 140 grain Accubonds and Partitions very accurately.

Any noticeable difference in the recoil between the 120s and 140s? I had a Ruger M77 Ultralight in 308 and that thing plain stomped my ass with 150s because it was so feather light.

To me not a difference. I can tell a difference between 140 in 708 vs 150 in 308 model model 7's

Looks like the pic rail is going to be getting tossed. Looking at 1" pic ring options most of them are expensive tactical kinda rings. Not what I am needing for it. Personally, I would ditch the rail and go with Talley Lightweight rings. If a rail isn't +20 MOA, it only functions to elevate the scope and add a connection point

It will also remove 2-4 screws(ring crossbolts) and a jagged point on the rifle. Trying to trade it for a set of Talleys, nothing to lose.

His has the old walker style trigger which can be adjusted down to a nice, crisp 2-1/2 lbs, or less if you desire.
