And then he’d have been ejected and the Braves forced to put another pitcher in and stress an already strained bullpen. Braves are neck and neck with the Phillies and need every win they can get to make a run in the post season. Yep, to win a pennant sometimes you have to play with your brain not your heart. Don't fret, it is being discussed in the clubhouse how to best repay the favor.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

If Brian McCann was still a Brave he’d have gone Hacksaw Jim Duggan on his ass.

Yes, I was expecting more from Tyler Flowers. He looks like a healthy young man.

Nolan Ryan would've tattooed the next sumbitch at the plate and then stood there ready to beat anyone's ass. Dang right. The Braves starting pitcher should have hit the first batter he faced after that nonsense right between the shoulder blades. If this had been earlier in the season, I'd agree. But I agree with Odocoileus and the practical aspect of it being late in the season with a title chase. The Braves will remember it, though. Similar to NHL hockey, the players have long memories and will exact revenge when the time is right.

Braves-Marlins has been a little heated in the past too. Last I recall is the game when McCann told the Hernandez kid to “f****** run!!!” When he admired a homer a little too long in Miami.
I’m thinking about Carlos Gomez for the Brewers. But he did get fired up at Hernandez too.

I don’t disagree with the Marlins pitcher plunking him and in all fairness Acuna knew it was coming and should have been moving and not dipped his elbow into the pitch but the Braves should have cleared the bench just as soon as the pitch was released. As a pitcher you can not let a batter that has been that hot with the bat just stand there with his feet set in concrete and load up to hit the next home run. You got to get him unsettled, moving and guessing. In the old days when a batter squared the pitcher tried to eat hole them. Double plays were broke up hard at any cost. That’s baseball. I take it you never played much baseball. At 95 MPH, you are lucky to move anything, you certainly don't think "well I think I'll stick my elbow out there" as you seem to think is possible. There is a big difference between throwing inside and throwing at someone. I can say this, I promise the Braves clubhouse is not happy with a 6 game suspension. The next time they play might be interesting TV. If you don't think you can get someone out without hitting him, you don't need to be pitching a baseball for a living. There is no other explanation since there was no fued between the two players. Urena is just a MLB wussy that was afraid to face the hottest hitter in the league.

RCHHR, are you freaking kidding me, just because the pitchers can't get him out, you say hit him with the baseball, WOW ! How about not throw a fastball right down the middle on the first pitch every time. Is it not a batters responsibility to knock the ever lovin crap out of the baseball, and on the other hand, a pitchers job to strike him out or at least keep off stride. The ONLY time I would say throwing at anyone, would be if that person tried to harm one of my teammates, and then it would be to the butt or thigh. What if that pitch had broke that kids elbow ? Still warranted in your mind ?

Detroit manager Ron Gardenhire said Urena was lucky he didn't play for him or he would have sent him out there to bat leadoff the next time they played the Braves so they could have their way with him. Damn! "I would be mad enough if I were the manager, I would start him tomorrow and lead him off just so they can smoke him and knock him out just because he did something so stupid."

When was last time you saw contact at 2nd breaking us a dp? They dont allow it anymore...least not since that dude had his ankle broke. More contact at first nowadays.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
