Ale "Brandon" Kaho, the 5-star #1 Outside Linebacker in the 2017 recruiting cycle is headed to Bama. He committed and signed with Washington but was given a release from his letter of intent due to personal reasons. He announced today he was headed to Bama.

That will help mitigate the loss of Terrell Lewis a little bit as far as depth.

Can he play right away?

Yes assuming that he got a full release from his letter of intent. He's not considered a rostered player until fall camp so he should be good to just sign a new LOI with Bama, accept his scholarship and move forward. I doubt seriously that he will play any this year ,just because the jump from HS to D1 is so big from a strength and conditioning standpoint. Unless Bama has issues like they did last year with injuries, I'd bet he redshirts this coming year given the timing of his late arrival on campus.

To my understanding it was a full unconditional release and he never enrolled at UW so it doesn't fall under "transfer" rules, so they are saying yes he can play without sitting out. He's supposed to be in Tuscaloosa as early as tomorrow.

Great news, but it will probably be next year before we see him on the field. Unless he catches on real quick. I heard he had lost like 20 lbs. because of all the off the field stuff he has endured over the summer.

He recently had two deaths in his immediate family and his parents went thru a divorce. Not sure if he has been conditioning regularly.

Maybe so, but late October is still a long way off. That's a good bit time to get back in shape. He could be a heckuva backup. We needed it last year.

Washington fans are pretty pissed about it. Kids from Nevada and signed with Washington out of high school. Apparently he told UW he wanted to be closer to home due to all the family turmoil. Then he went to a school that’s 2300 miles from home as opposed to 750.

So who that was counting on a four year scholarship gets processed to make room? Or maybe someone gets a career ending ingrown toenail so they can stay on the payroll, oops, I mean scholarship.

Yep. They are livid. Bama’s new DC was too transparent about this one.

But the three and four stars sure whipped those five star asses when they met. Seems to me I recall we had 26 stars at the end of the day to bammer's 14.

Too bad emotion ran out down the stretch and talent overcame, as a spent AU got curb stomped the next week, then followed it up with yet another loss in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, those 5* guys won another NC.
