That was it. Ol Findley’s Curb market. I remember getting a real tree from there every Christmas when I was little.

Finley's was a great curb market, we use to stop there all the time. During watermelon season they kept a bunch of them in the coolers in the back.

I love me some muscadines, we had a huge vine when I was growing up, we always had jelly and wine, I am going to plant some this year...

No yeast? Grand Ma would make homemade hooch back when milk came in 1 gal glass containers. She would mix up a batch and pour it into one of those glass jugs. Cover opening with a balloon.. When balloon deflated, it was time to sample the happy juice!.

Yes you have to have yeast. Everything has to be disinfected. You can measure the alcohol using a hydrometer during fermentation. When you get to 10 or 11 % then add Camden tablets to stop feremntation. You can also cold shock it. After fermentation is stopped you can add sugar to sweeten.

I've taken my alcohol content higher but muscadine doesn't taste as good to me with the higher alcohol.

My wife’s grandmother “98” sells about $1,000 worth of tame a year. She has vine that are as big around as a coffee can there’s no telling how old they are. I believe most of her regular customers are making wine but she’ll tell you real quick jelly only.😬

My dad had a 2 acre vineyard and just sold to grocery stores. He had a route from Monroeville to Selma to Marion to Camden. I ran it the year after he died and it was a lot of work. It grossed $10,000 to 15,000 each year, but I doubt he was making much after expenses.
