You want a get in hard trouble fast, let hunting interfere with Mr. Mom duties!  Beautiful deer! Callie sent me a pic this morning in the stand and it made me stay in the woods a lot longer than I would have...barely got the girls to gymnastics on time. Congrats!

Not trailing a doe, just cruising, alone. He'd been rubbing alot and "stunk" bad.
I'd didn't have either of the bucks I killed patterened, I did have a good feel of that tall,heavy 4x4s core area. Didn't no much bout the 15 pt. I don't like not knowing at least a general idea of ones core. I've just been stand hopping when time and conditions were right, in "bucky" areas with sign and traffic. If you don't have one pegged, that's bout all you can do.
Demp, still lots of good hunting left. Weather not looking so good next week. You might want to pick some good weather days the last 10 days of season. A couple real monsters always killed the last week. My .02

Even worse than that, yesterday was January 5th, I thought today (Friday) was January 5th...lost track of time in the woods...very uneasy feeling when you get home and see a 9 year anniversary present! Who the hell gets married and has babies in January??? Congrats again on the buck, and I'm glad you didn't have him patterned, I was fixing to hire you to come pattern the deer I hunt for me! LOL!

10 4 boydog, probably look at an extended weekend next weekend but im going to play it by weather. Agree with you 100% on finding a core area, I have pictures of 2 really good deer in their core areas. I killed one already in december and ill be after the other the rest of season...

Thanks, tickled with him. I feel safe in saying the big un in the area I was hunting is dead. A 160 in Al is the buck of a lifetime. Thats a great buck. One of the most impressive deer I have seen this year. The deer i killed grossed 163 but yours looks better. Congrats
