i had to redeem myself and purge the Whatthehellburger out of my memory.

This one was actually damn good and from a local diner, drive-in and dive type joint.

I went to Cracker Barrel looking to try the steak and eggs everyone was raving about on Aldeer but didn't see it on the menu so I just went with the usual, Chicken Fried Chicken and it was good too.

About 2 years ago I got bit by a LoneStar tick and cant eat mammalian meat. With that being said, that burger is the one thing I dream about. That would literally be my last meal if i was on death row.

Momentary Sidetrack: BenC, where did you get bitten by a Lone Star Tick and how long did it take for the AlphaGam meat allergy to show up?

Hate to hear that. Sounds like a terrible thing to have to go through.

As for Irish's burger gimmie a bottle of A1 for it and the fries, and I'll be happy. Looks great.

Well for once I didn’t do too bad for a weekday lunch... I had shrimp and grits at Connor’s today! grin And to top that off, my coworkers bought it for me! thumbup I’m starting a new job Monday, so my current work crew treated me to a going away lunch. Good people I’m leaving, but a great opportunity I couldn’t pass on.

OK... Enough of the mystery...

The half pound double decker burger I had for lunch yesterday was at Chalkboard Kitchen on hwy 43 in Creola. I eat there all the time. Great burgers, great daily specials including hot chicken at least once a week which is great. Great service and great attention to detail. The owner is a good guy and takes serious ownership of his restaurant. I eat there every time I'm at the plant up the road.

The blackened redfish was from my favorite restaurant in Daphne, Boudreaux's Cajun Grill. Everything they do on their menu is always well executed. From the shrimp and grits to the Wagyu Sirloin steaks to the Cajun dishes all are very nicely done. Great view off the deck and usually some nice live music every night. Service has always been excellent. The I always see one of the owners there personally taking charge of all the details.

Irish,

The chalkboard is just a few miles from my house. Great food. Do you happen to know what they are building in the parking lot? Kinda looks like it may be a car wash.
