I I've been shopping off and on for individual medical coverage since February and have not found a single plan that has a reasonable deductible that I can afford. I'm so damn mad I could damn near explode. That damn illegal halfbreed son of a bitch illegal Kenyan bastard destroyed the best healthcare insurance programs ever known to mankind. If that Kenyan bastard would come near me I'd take one for the team and do the time. If there's any stupid bastard democrat voting idiots on here, you should delete your account immediately. It's because of you and your ilk that this is what decent people have to live with. Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes yesterday and will probably NEVER be able to afford sensible medical coverage. I support this message. If the Kenyan ever comes to Alabama, I hope he leaves in a pine box.

My daughter has Type 1 diabetes and insurance has declined coverage this year on one of her prescriptions. Cost $1,300 to have it filled last month. I don't know who this insurance bulldoodoo was supposed to benefit because I don't know a single person that has had "better" or more affordable insurance. Premiums are up, deductibles are higher, and coverage is worse. The people who don’t work.

I think my individual is around $400 a month with a $6900 deductible/max out of pocket and it does cover some regular office visits/prescriptions with copays, coinsurance, etc. It's thru Florida Blue, which is BCBS, I would think they would have something similar offered in AL. I'm 40, so not sure how much of a difference that makes in the cost vs your age.
It was definitely MUCH cheaper - for me at least maybe not my employer- when I worked for someone else instead of for myself.
EDIT: I wonder if it will be cheaper if you are doing it during open enrollment period? Also, when I first started shopping, I went the healthcare.gov to see what companies/plans were available to me even though I knew I wasn't eligible for any subsidy, then I just went directly to Florida Blue once I realized that was going to be my best option. If they offer insurance to you in your state/area, it will be on healthcare.gov.

We need to start a bonafide movement to push Trump to repeal Illegal Kenyan Care
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

If that Kenyan bastard would come near me I'd take one for the team and do the time. Yep. The older I get, the threat of a life sentence becomes less of a deterrence.

I have been saying this the entire time!! BCBS of Alabama RAPES individuals, excuse me EVERYBODY!! Those that have it through an employer are insulated because they generally have absolutely no clue of how much money the company is paying the insurance company instead of them. The same goes for SSI, where the Government Rapes you and you aren't shown how much the "company pays" (that is money that they would be paying you that you never see coming out of your pay check). SSI was setup to hide that from employees.
Common denominator between insurance and SSI, yep the fine politicians that don't have to play by the same rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, Wiley. I've heard people tell me that "the exchange" has affordable premiums BUT with $5,000 deductibles.

If they offer insurance to you in your state/area, it will be on healthcare.gov. It's cheaper because you're young. That's all Obamacare on healthcare.gov. FL Blue was cheap for me once too. The older you get the more it costs. The last few years before aging in are prohibitively expensive. Count your blessings while you have cheap affordable insurance. One day you'll be like the ones complaining on here. It will get worse before it gets better.
