I’ve taped off the Boyd’s laminated stock and I’m fixing to camo paint the barrel of the Ruger American 6.5 Creedmoor. “Why are you doing that?” the missus said . “I would think it would hurt the resale value.” “I’m not planning to resale it,” I said. “Oh, I bet you will,” she said. I thought, ‘Who the hell has she been talking to? Perchjerker?” I’m prepped to spray her tomorrow. I have khaki, OD green and black. My brother thinks I need to add gray. She also said “You’re not planning to paint it on my dining room table, are you?”

Take the barreled action out of the stock. Remove the bolt and plug the action and end of the barrel.
Also, painting the scope will ruin the re-sale value.

I was wondering the same thing. Just remove the stock. Much easier to paint. And tell her you was actually planning to paint it in the living room.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

I thought about taking it out but for no more than I was going to do, it seemed like hassle. Took all of 5 minutes to tape and cover and gun will be sitting up nicevand straight for me.

I do rifles barrels with flex seal spray, its awesome.
Before I started doing this I had called Flexseal to get any melt point info. They told me it was over 250 degrees, I haven’t had a problem yet with moderate or hunting shooting.
I never clean rifles except for the bore and I’m in the elements so much I use my gun as a lightning rod, so this is up my alley.
I just ain’t into the lingering Krylon smell.
