Predistination is false in my mind according to what I choose to believe in. Yes.im Baptist if that matters. I don't have a favorite verse (yet) and I fully believe in the Lord. I got a buddy that I can call on anytime to help me u derstand some Bible verses my simple mind can understand and that joker likes to tell me jokes every now and then pertaining to the Bible and while they are harmful it scares me to death and I think he gets a kick out of it sometimes
To me, this just means that God's hand is in everything. I used to believe things just happened. No more. I no longer think there is happenstance. No coincidence. And. Maybe get more Christian friends than this guy. Just sayin'...oh. Trust in the Lord...

The joke goes like this. Don't stand to close while I'll tell it

The preachers donkey came up missing one Saturday morning and he knew it had been stolen. So the preacher decided that on Sunday he would preach a sermon on the 10 commandments and really lay it on thick when he got to thou should not steal. Well while the preacher was giving it all he had he didn't see anyone in the crowd acting uncomfortable. Realizing he had to move on he continued the sermon and moved on to adultery and suddenly realized where he left the mule.
He actually told this in church one day and got a few chuckles but believe you me I couldn't and wouldn't tell it at church

Here is my favorite...Preacher gets up and says, I am hearing that I am in the KKK. This is a LIE. I love all God's Children and will not tolerate being branded a racist. I want the person who has been telling this tale to STAND and admit their sin!! Silence...then a drop dead gorgeous blond steps forward out of the back of the church. Pastor, what I said was, you were a wizard in the sheets. The pastor fainted.

John 21:6

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

John 14:2
In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

"Delight thyself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." I wonder how many times in the Bible that when Jesus wants to get away & think or talk to the Father that he either goes up into the mountains, out on a boat, or into the wilderness? I can relate to that!

Matt 3 16-17....And when Jesus was baptized immediately he went up from the the water and behold the heavens opened to him and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and resting upon him and behold a voice from heaven said this is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased.

The Father, Son and Holy Ghost all present at the same time.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God". When times are rough, this one always reminded me that I and my profession hold a special place in God's heart and we are doing his work, when doing it right. Right now, being retired, it reminds me of good things in God's eyes that I did back in the day. It's tough having a purpose as an officer and then retire and not have that any longer. I'm struggling with that now. That verse helps though. Suicide and depression are very high among retired officers,

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

All seriousness, it's a super tough job.

As a precurser to his will, an example of how to obtain salvation after his will was preached 43 days after he died on the cross.

I have read scripture that it was to fulfill the law for us ..remission of sins requires a sinless sacrifice of which we are not able to provide. He in us is our remission so we do my need to fulfill the law for remission.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. - John 1:1-5
