Who makes the best pressure canner. Something that will last with little maintenance.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I have a All American Model 921. Have had no problems. No seals to worry about. Probably will be passed on to one of my kids.

I bought my online. Its been awhile back so I don't remember where. Do a search and you should find several sources. They come in several sizes and are heavy. You can pick the one that best fits your needs. I picked All American based on reviews and have been happy with it. The quality is reflected in the price.

All American. I have an All American and a Presto...I like and use them both, but the metal-metal seal in the All American means you'll never be stuck trying to find a replacement gasket. Got both of them from Amazon.
If you're just starting out in pressure canning, consider eventually acquiring at least 2 different sizes...that'll keep you from having to shortload a bigger canner with a small batch of whatever you're canning.
My Presto is a 21 qt, and the All American is a 30 qt., and I wouldn't mind eventually picking up a 10 or 15 qt canner for some things. As previously stated, the All Americans are way more expensive, but will last several generations as long as you're doing your part in keeping it up!

If you can a lot in smaller jars, go ahead and order an extra trivet or two...makes stacking the jars a lot easier and more secure from falling over.

If you're new to canning, follow the instructions carefully...it (obviously) operates under pressure, and at something around 265° F...it's a "scald bomb" if you do it wrong, and doing it right is the only safe way to can certain things, specifically meats, without running the risk of poisoning yourself.
