I've tracked a few deer up that way.....There's some ridges right around the river that are STEEP....I feel for you if you're hunting any of that type terrain. Last time I went up there I said I'd never go back.

Our club is in Randolph just below Harris Dam on the west side of the river. Deer population is ok, but you have to hunt them. Mark your calendar for Jan 15th. That’s when you’ll see them start following/chasing does. Rut seemed to peak about the end of Jan last year. I killed a 9 point on 2/3 that was run down. Members starting seeing bucks back together hitting plots the last few days of the season. Turkey population is pretty good, but like the deer, you have to hunt them. Not for an amateur turkey hunter.

first deer I killed was with a british 303, in Randolph co. in 1957. My first one also came from Randolph, killed with buckshot back in 1977.
