Matter of fact, they have hydroplane races at the Guntersville Hydrofest this weekend. My 83-y.o. MIL wants to go, and is getting my daughter to take her ?!?
Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.

Does anyone actually water ski anymore?
We do. Slalom is way more fun to me. But I’m old school I guess. I LIKE http://www.aldeer.com/forum/images/icons/default_dark/thumbs_up.gifBTW, for some of the previous posters, bass boats don't leave much wake. Nor does jet-skis, pontoons, flat-bottoms, especially compared to a WAKE-board boat designed to produce HUGE wakes. Even if the wake is smaller from a bass boat it is still enough wake to tear up people's property, right?

I've never wake surfed, but I've seen videos of my friends and their kids doing it. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen other people drop the rope like that guy was doing. The spotter usually pulls the rope back onto the boat while they are surfing. Looks like a good way to fall and get a rope wrapped around an arm or a leg or a neck!

I just bought a nice house to me. Drive old cars but i aint never owed or made a payment in my life other than a roof over my head. Debt free besides my morgage. I have nice things and paid cash for them. If i had money to buy a lakehouse im sure i could afford to maintain the shoreline. I use to be the guy in the wake boat and the guy fishing. Now im just the guy fishing. They get on my nerves while i fish but they have as much rite to be there as i do. The guy in the picture is minding his own business, not bothering anyone it seems. But they do get annoying. They probably say the same thing about us fishermen too.
