We picked up a new lease this year just north of Pushmataha Plantation. Just wondering how the hunting was in that area. This will be my first time hunting that far north

No deer in the area, good luck.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Bluetick serpentines around green fields and rock spit a lease

ENTIRELY neighbor dependent. North of the main camp outside of Butler or where? Mark (Ezell, owner) has land leased and owned all over Choctaw County and nearby. He has one tract on the Tombigbee river just S of where you turn to go to the Naheola mill in Pennington. If you're near there you may be in luck. They had a bunch of open Ag fields around that place you had to drive through to get to his camp house there. Guy from Sweetwater used to farm those fields but retired last year so they may be fallow. Good luck.

Is Mark still doing well? I haven't seen him in a few years but used to do a lot of work for him at his place in Mobile and for one of his sons that lives here. He invited me up to his lodge a few times but I never was able to make it.

My Dad hunts on the North end of Scott Mtn. That's some tough hunting but there's some good bucks in that area. One of my best seasons came from there but it was WORK. I know of some legit 140-160 deer that have came out of that area.

Our land is privately owned and has been managed for years. It’s flat land with big pine plantation. It has a big creek with a lot of hardwood running through the middle of the property. From what I can see from google earth there’s not a lot of food plots anywhere around our property except on the east side and from what I was told the owner of bent creek has that block of land for his sons to hunt on. Everything else looks to be big blocks of land

The area around Push and Bent Creek is obviously good hunting. It’s the best area of Choctaw County for sure. Not close to Pennington or the river though, and the Scott Mtn area is just down the road, but is totally different land and hunting.
