Nice chill day today for a change. No cabin building. Just got up had some coffee, Mrs. Irish made a nice frittata for breakfast...

Being the Proverbs 31 woman that she is, she also made a big pot of homemade vegetable soup and canned it, so she could take some to her mom and she also made a big batch of Alabama caviar so we could snack on it during the day...

Just so you guys wouldn't think I goofed off all day long, I rubbed down a Boston Butt and a beef brisket with my dry rub put them on the Kamado. The butt went on at 0900 and the brisket at about 1230... That last photo credit goes to Irish Jr., our photography guru at the house, with your's truly as the hand model... grin

We finished it all up with some homemade vanilla ice cream.

This was mine but a little early. Picked up some nice hunks of beef at Sam's. Short bath in Dales then sprinkled with Montreal Steak seasoning. Corn was dressed with mayo, dry ranch and Parmesan cheese and grilled. Sliced some tomatoes to go in the salad and a couple just to eat. Finished off with yellow meated watermelon.

Last night was BLT's with cantalope, more yellow meated watermelon, fresh Chilton Co. peaches and Strawberry shortcake. Add a visit to the ARK and The Shrimp Basket I ate really well this weekend. Had planned on making biscuit and gravy with sliced tomato but just didn't get around to that. Just call me fat and happy!

It's hard to beat Sam's Club steaks. That looks great.
