I’ll be trying some TSS next spring! Any tips on a choke for this?

Nice looking shooter. I've always loved Winchester shotguns. I'm running an Indian Creek .555 in my SXP Longbeard. Its a little tight at 20 yards but has a really good 40 yard pattern with #9s.

Dang nice shotgun.

Try your factory full before you go spending a bunch of $ on chokes .

My 870 throws about as good of a pattern as any with a 20 dollar Carlson’s .585. YMMV

My SX3 which has same choke thread, has shot all the chokes I've bought well. I've hunted the last 2 years with Carlson's Longbeard .568 choke with a 1 5/8 oz of #9 tss, it is borderline too tight at short range but averages 340 in the 10" @40yds. I have a .560 Gobbling thunder, .570 Tightwad and a .585 Carlson Flush turkey choke also and my second choice would be the .585 Carlson which actual puts out a "better" hunting pattern.

I got the best results in my Longbeard SX3 with a $16 Primos Tightwad and Apex 7.5/9 blend. I tried a Carlson, the factory Longbeard and a Indian Creek .555 and the Primos was hands down the best pattern.

I shot a Carlson .585 in my CZ O/U 20. It threw 328 9s in the 10" at 40, too tight for my liking. I'm now shooting a Carlson extended full and improved modified and am in the 285 to 300 range.
