I enjoyed it initially until it became the same old repetitive stuff....pull car over, ask to search, find illegal contraband and or no license, run license or suspended license name and discover warrants. People are really stupid.

You should have to deal with it on a daily basis.

And believe you me, if I had a woman captive in the car, and 3 bodies stashed at home, I would take the time to be sure all my taillights worked, and I drove within the speed limit.

I stopped a bunch of folks for bad vehicle violations and saw in plain sight drugs, one time a 3" thick 12"x12" block of weed. Another time a crack pipe and drugs on the dash. It wasn't his though.....

If I've learned anything from that show, it's that I am probably the only person in the entire country that doesn't have weed in his vehicle...

Haha it never is. I had a client when arrested the officer discovered meth in his wallet. Of course it wasn’t his.

I had another client with 54lbs of marijuana in the sleeper of his big rig. He was stopped for speeding through a work zone on I22, he actually passed the Trooper in the work zone. He consented to a search and the marijuana was there in a duffel bag. He was hauling a load of onions and the top of the trailer was open...he chose to haul the marijuana in the sleeper, speed through a work zone AND THEN consent to a search.

Me and my family are very thankful for folks making dumb decisions.

On a side note, how the hell do police officer's understand half the schit people tell them? My brain hurts just from watching that show and listening to folks explain stuff

I’ve learned that everyone who I’m sure smells like a brewery, has had exactly two beers/drinks.

I tried watching it once.

It's terrible.

"A couple" is the standard answer as well as "some dude" when asked who committed a crime they witnessed being perpetrated.

As for the show, I tried watching it a couple of times but I honestly didn't see anything on there that I haven't done or been part of, or supervised the officers doing it. That is one of the advantages, if you want to call it that, of working as a police officer in a small town with an understaffed department with one of the highest per capita violent crime rates in America. Selma was # 8 the last time I saw the stats. I've pretty much seen it all and done it. A Selma police officer will have worked more murder scenes in his first five years than most officers in other cities will work in their careers.

I don't know how LEO's and other first responders deal with all of that schitt. It probably wouldn't take long for my dash cam and mic to conveniently malfunction. My hat is off to all of you that have to work in that environment.

It helps when you keep two things in mind. First expect them to lie to you, even the witnesses are going to have some meaningless lie in their story. Secondly, whatever offense they committed, you probably weren't the victim so don't take it personally.

It's even like that in our small part of the world. The other morning I roll up on a car stuck on the side the road. Pulled over to far and tire sunk in the mud. Run the guy license and its suspended. Run paper tag and not on file. Run the VIN and the car hadn't been registered since August of 2016. No insurance either. Writhe numerous citations and call a wrecker to have car picked up. Guy calls his girlfriend to come get him. She drives up and I ask for her drivers license and she hands me an ID. I ask for her DL again and gives some bs story of grabbing the wrong card. Call her name and DOB in and guess what. Yep she's suspended also. But vehicle was legal. Issued citation to her and told her to call some body to come get them and the vehicle and not to drive. All this was at 0800 and at 1300hrs someone finally picked them up. I thought sure as soon is I got outa sight the would have drove off. I'm surprised they didn't.

It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
