Howard Hill Trad bow shoot is last weekend of May, next weekend, at Tannehill Park. Thuirs-Sun. There will be lots of shooters, bows to see, vendors.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I think the fam and I are going to be there, unless it's supposed to be 100 degrees. Then it might just be me.

I made it to the Saturday championship round one time several years ago, back when I was shooting nearly every day. I will not make it back there this year! LOL

If I were to take a few bows there, I'm assuming there would be someone there who could tell me exactly what I have? Both of my grandparents won several AL state archery championships, I think back in the 50's. Anyway I have 3 of their bows and would like to have someone tell me exactly what I have, whether they are still usable and what it would take to get them ready to shoot. Can anyone tell me who I might see and how I find them? Oh yeah and let me just say that they are not for sale. Don't know that they'd be worth much anyway. They have a lot of sentimental value though. My grandmother's bow is the one I learned to shoot on but hasn't been shot in many years.

I have 3 bows. 1 Bear Super Kodiak 60" 48# pull. I'm not sure this bow has ever had a string on it because it looks brand new and it has no sights. I'm wondering if possibly my grandfather won it and never used it? The 2nd bow is a HOWATT'S Eldorado 60" 35# pull. The first two are recurve's and the last I think is a longbow? The only marking on it is Polar? My grandfather wrote on it 28# and P1974 so I don't know maybe they competed in the 70's and not the 50's?

What I don't know is the exact condition of these bow's except for the Bear and what I need to do to get them set up, assuming they are usable. Also, none of these bows have ever been hunted with, only target competition, could any of them be decent hunting bows?

48# super kodiak is a very good hunting bow the other two are a lil on the light side for deer but will do to practice and build form with. Big Jim will have strings and anything else ya need.
