Shot a 6pt on wheeler yesterday man did he stink and was his neck all swole up. I think they are getting pretty close to full blown chasing, what are yal seeing.

Congratulations. I've just started hunting out there in the past couple weeks. It looks to me like there's a lot of deer but it also seems like they're getting a lot of pressure. We saw 3 does yesterday afternoon and I saw two bucks looking for does a couple weeks ago.

What general area are you hunting in?

Yeah i've been hunting around mooreville. Yeah wheeler gets alot of pressure around the roads and trails, I take my boat and travel the river and creeks to get back where i don't think people can get too.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm just starting to use a bike to explore some more. I may try the boat some next season.

I haven't got to hunt wheeler in 2 weeks and I hope to see more buck action tomorrow. I saw 11 does last time out

yeah i tried the bike a couple years back was pretty good getting back away from people but i didn't do so good with dragging the deer back lol.

We gutted it and slide the chest on the seat then tied the front legs up and the back legs up. Walked it out.

It was a long walk but alot easier than a drag.

I will tell you exactly where I used to hunt. I don't plan to go there but maybe a few times.

Its easy to get to. But a good long walk, derrick its real easy on a bike.

The walks wasn't bad with the deer. I had a rack to hold the stand and a bow holder. It was just hold the weight steady for the walk. I'm sure a cart built for a bike woulds work better.

I havent hunted it this yr....I really havent got to hunt much cause I dont know anywhere to hunt...I hunt swan Creek this yr..and seen a few deer

Been hunting blackwell swamp area the last few weeks and killed one genetic mess up 4 point...had 3 on one side and a spike on the other. Looked as if he was 3-4 year old deer. I have been seeing scrapes everywhere coming up day by day out there. My dad saw a stud 8 point 2 weeks ago but wasnt chasing or showing any sign of the rut whatsoever he said. Where are you guys hunting? and has anyone had any other luck this year on the refuge?

Went this morning and didn't see anything, just froze my butt off wouldn't be to bad if i didn't have a head cold. Hope to spend all day out there tomorrow. Looked around and saw a few rubs and scrapes but nothin that has been worked in a few days.

Planning on trying the Flintlock Friday Morning, The only time a ever hunt Wheeler is Flintlock season but usually have pertty good luck.
