Last season, my intentions were to hunt from the ground in the woods. It only happened once. I learned it will require more off season planning because our property is so thick. I'm going to have to cut some lanes and do other prep work.

I plan on planting some of our food plots much later this season. Particularly the small kill plots. They had absolutely been whipped out by November last year. My save the planting on them until November and hopefully have a few late season bow setups.

I hunted hard for six darn months one thing or another across several states, I’m not gonna hunt so much this year.

I’m retired so hunting and fishing is what I do.

Try to find a small lease or scout out a few different tracts of public ground to hunt in SC. Going to bowhunt more in AL than I have before. It’s killing me to not be able to gun hunt a few really good spots I have in Choccolocco WMA, due to the weather not being right or not being able to get back for them.

You can use “nose jammer” spray or sprinkle powdered “trioxane” on a trail to kill their nose. The latter takes out all of their smell, the spray overwhelms their smell.

Works for Boar hogs, and enemy dogs too.

I'm not even coming close to believing that. If that were the case you wouldn't be able to buy any because all the drug traffickers would have it bought up.

I’ve got a 10 day old little girl at home right now. I plan to not be able to hunt near as much as I have previously. I also figure the hunting that I will be able to do will be evening hunts instead of morning.

I’m a (g)od of war son, its better you don’t believe it. I have also given you Top Secret information. I work at Lackland Annex (Medina) with the “working dog” trainers on a regular basis. My prudence prevents me from posting a comprehensive list of substances but the two listed are available and work “good nuff”. The cartel knows this info already so a hunter should take advantage too.

I entertain myself by killing lone boars with a 410 Brenneke shotgun slug, it works for me.

I photoshopped this image nine years ago using some rednek kid’s photo from Newton Alabama and Nick Sabens face. It has been used by many folk since. Nobody named “Rock” is my brother.

I plan to actually release an arrow or squeeze a trigger this year. Last year was the first since 1997 that I didn't kill at least a few deer. I just sat and watched them all season. No regrets though. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.

Funny thing is, with all the Texas corn, you seldom ever see them like what Alabama river bottom acorns can do (see below)

Cut a new entrance to the south and north. Avoid the middle and hunt the edges. Take most of December off from hunting while monitoring my trail cameras. May not go except bow season then again after Mlk day.

Blah, I guarantee you that is some sound planning. Its all about quality of sits thru low impact hunting and less about quantity of sits.

I killed one 140" buck last year and a pile of hogs. Reported the buck on gamecheck like i was supposed to. This year, to be different, I think I will kill 10 or so bucks, report none of them on gamecheck and see if Chuck notices that I did it and then wait to see if he sends the one warden working Wilcox to find me. rolleyes

central ala,
Well, it appears for the most part I won't be hunting over corn. 2 nights ago the wind laid it down and last night put it under water.

I guess stay at home it's the first time I can remember not having a lease or being in a club. The last time I didn't hunt was 86-87 when I was stationed in Germany

I hope I don't do anything too different this year. Last year, I hunted a bunch and shot 4 bucks in 3 states. Best year ever!

Kill an archery bull. I let 3 slide last year trying to get my son and a friend their first bull. Gonna try to get my son one but, I intend on punching a hole in one.

Right now planning on not going as much or at all. Suffering from burn out. Plus I focus most of my play money on saltwater fishing nowadays.

30 mins!!!!!! Maybe 45! But mainly 30 mins. That's the difference in me killing a mature buck and not.

MAKE MYSELF GET TO MY LOC-ONS 30 MINS EARLIER IN THE AM THIS YEAR!!!!

At daylight doesn't get it. I need to be in my stand BEFORE first light. Blew mature bucks out of my area (I saw them) or had bucks within range while climbing my sticks and blew the hunt!

For the first time in 51 years I don't have a job. In the past I have only hunted on Sat. Now I can just go when it is right.

Actually get in the woods this bow seasonand hunt and not spend it getting the club established. Year 3 on our lease and it’s finally looking like a place we can hunt. 😁

Take my 4 year old daughter, and shoot whatever the he'll she wants me to shoot. I want to make it so fun to where she is begging me to go back.

He'll, if all she wants to do is ride the gator that's cool too. I'm ready to enjoy this and have fun.

Bow hunt for the first time and kill my first turkey. Also help my dad more with planting the fields and get more involved with the preparation for hunting season.

Little girl, you need to be helping your dad with all that stuff since you always kill more big bucks than he does. Good luck on the turkey. I'd recommend finding a different guide that is not named Chad for that.
