We are going to have 988 acres of various age pines and hardwood smzs. There are 2 properties minutes apart that we are joining to make a small club with per the other thread. We are wanting 5 people to join us for a total of 7 at $1500 with a couple of people interested in the lease already. There are 14 plots we are planning to plant some with shooting houses already some will need to be built. We are looking for members who want a place to enjoy and try and grow some nice bucks and help grow the potential. We are going to implement a 2 of 4 criteria 18” main beams, 15” wide, 4.5” bases, 180#s or you mount it. There will be 2 does allowed per membership and 3 bucks. Turkey hunting is available but since 2 of us are serious hunters and one other possible serious turkey hunter we are about full on that end. We all 3 have other properties to hunt and want to keep the pressure as limited as possible so we may could add another turkey hunter as long as they aren’t planning to make this their main place. We have allowed extra money in the dues for extra’s like spring planting, lime or shooting houses. I am going to be on the lookout for a house or camp area also. I thought you were joking around when I read the part about the turkey hunting, My apologies, good luck with your club.

No not joking I was being honest. 3-4 people can hunt a property that size if you don’t overhunt it and all hunt other properties. I hunt 3 other places primarily and will hunt it maybe 7-8 mornings a season. The other current member may hunt it that much and the other possibile member will have a dedicated turkey lease and probably only hunt it a few mornings. I felt it would be best to be upfront and potential members to know we weren’t looking for someone who would hunt it 2-4 mornings a week.

These properties are going to hunt really big. There are tons of big smz’s and good rd hunting places. There are camp spots on both properties but neither have power or water. We will look at finding another spot with both if enough members are interested. Once full we may adjust the rules some as long as everyone is on the same page. Kids will have a little more freedom for bucks as long as it is reasonable. We want them to have fun and be able to kill something every now and then to keep them excited.

We will be dropping the membership back to 6 at $1500 after realizing we made a mistake about the new lease cost. We may consider staying at 7 for $1300 if pushed to though.

We are going to drop the criteria and just focus on shooting 3 1/2 yr old or older bucks. Still only 2 turkey hunters so we have room for one or two more still.
