horsechitt, they don't get their damn finger off the trigger. Lack of training, practice, and concentration. This exactly. To the detractors making comments about lack of safety, a safety is a mechanical device that can fail. One of the top rules of gun safety is never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire. I know what I'm talking about unlike some on this site. I was a Glock armorer and am a Glock certified instructor. It won't going bang unless you pull the trigger. I was an LEO and a law enforcement instructor experienced with Beretta and Glock neither of which has a mechanical safety lever. I never had an accidental discharge. Many a high risk traffic stop and my Glock only went bang when I made it go bang. During my time we only had 1 accident on the range due to an idiot LT not keeping his finger off the trigger. Only accident because of an idiot. Training teaches you to keep your finger off the trigger unless you're going to fire your weapon. It's not the Glock. It's the idot carrying the Glock. Gosh, I ain't got anywhere near that kind of expertise. I was just a range safety officer and taught weapons tactics, in the navy. For some odd reason, in my military records, it says weapons expert. However, we didn't use Glocks. I wonder why?

Me and Fred can't fight. Every time we try, we just end up drunk.

Bottom line, glock shooters are just jealous that they couldn't afford a 1911. Glocks are cheap, for a reason.

Outback’s going to chew you a new asshole. A 9mm 1911? Blasphemy.

I watched and listened as a tactical handgun instructor said, "Everybody has their gun preference but this is why I carry Glocks." Then he tossed his G19 gen 4 in the mud, walked over to it and stood on it occasionally grinding it into the mud while he kept talking about weapon reliability. Then he picked it up, wiped some of the mud off with his hand and filled the bank behind his target with lead.
Reliable? No doubt. Ugly? You betcha Safe? Every bit as safe as it's operator.

My fixed up Glock shoots much better than my Springfield TRP did, so much so the TRP hit the road. A few fixes on the glock and I think they are superb shooters. JMO though. They could go ahead and produce them with high end finishes and still be cheaper than some popular 1911’s. I will admit a ghost trigger, springs, and upgraded sights can make that polymer turd shine. Add a drop in barrel in the mix and you've got yourself a mighty fine shooter. Side note: I always wondered if a Glock would hold up to pistol whipping a fella like a steel framed pistol. PawPaw Troy you ever had to give anybody a noggin' flogging?
