Good looking tractor! You gonna have it ready for Piney Chape?! Oh yeah, that’s it’s first stop.

I thought it was the Model A "Johnny Popper" but I don't think it is. Sweet looking machine and I know you're proud to have it.
Dr. B Doc, what you probably heard old timers call a "Poppin' Johnny" or "Johnny Popper" would have most likely been a row crop tractor. Could be any of the models , B, A, G . Yek's AO will have the same two cylinder , horizontal engine as an A row crop tractor and will have the same sound. Now you wanta hear the big boys, that would would be the G or D. Gas , two cylinder engines with pistons bout the size of a coffee can. Sounds like a Harley on high power steroids! He had AO on it, but everything I’ve found on it I believe it is an AR because of the fenders. The AO’s had the huge wrap around fenders that would make it worth a fortune. There are several more in the barn he restored along with some that run that he never restored but this was his prized possession. I may try to get some of the others if she decides to part ways with them as well, but between the tractor, crew cab ranger, my truck and lawmower I’m about out of toy room. He had several hit and miss engines that will go for a premium as well. There will be one hell of an auction one day. Talk about an arse being stuck to a seat, loading that sucker on the gooseneck wasn’t fun when I hadn’t driven it in 15 years, but unloading it and knowing I had to put it in gear and ease it off without touching the hand clutch was epic draw up. I knew it would shoot off if i didn’t have it all the way in and when I got it on the ground I went straight to the fridge and got 2 beers out.

Sweet tractor and glad you got it.

Very few AOs still have all the original sheet metal ( Wings) , they got bent up and rusted away. The citrus fenders (wings) were an option , so not all had them. Yours has the front orchard fender extensions , orchard hood and low exhaust with spark arrestor. If it's an AR , it's been dressed up with some AO features. A serial number search could confirm.

I meant to take a pic of it tonight and forgot again, I’ll run it and know for sure, but I bet he is right. If he wasn’t I would be shocked.

If your granddaddy hit the big shows 15-20 years ago I bet I met him. Lawrenceburg was always a big one. I may have even seen that tractor.
Google John Deere AR and AO , compare the two . If yours isn't an AO someone went to a lot of trouble and expense to make an AO clone. Either way it's a dandy. Make sure and exercise her around the neighborhood , it'll turn heads .

Noticed in your video you have an umbrella bracket, better get you a umbrella to keep the sun off that big gourd . I always liked the yellow ones myself. There's a link below to Yesterdays Tractor JD forum, good source of info. http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/viewforum.php?f=18

That Natural Light really ties that tractor together. My exact thought! This gets more cool every time I click on it. Dr. B

Looks good bud. There is an earlier model AR over at the shop if you want to compare them some day. Looks like you are going to need another shop built. If I can get the land behind me I’ll have a pole barn for less used items, at the rate I’m going it’s going to have to be built in my yard. I should have built a 100x30 besides and 40x30
