Anybody know the purpose of the new cameras that were recently installed on the north- and south-bound lanes of I-65? They are near the scales so I assume (hope ...) they are for commercial vehicle weight enforcement?

I don't know for sure, but would bet money that they are set up so DOT can remotely monitor traffic conditions. They do that in some places.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Thanks guys. As long as it’s not photo-radar, I’m good. That’s my stomping grounds, stay away

I don't know for sure, but would bet money that they are set up so DOT can remotely monitor traffic conditions. They do that in some places. most likely this. They aren't really cameras, similar to the ones at traffic signals. Most people think those have video but they are just detection devices. The ones hanging over the lanes are for monitoring traffic flow. The ones mounted on poles on the right of way are actual cameras. You can log into most DOT's and watch them live. ALDOT is not most DOTs.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Thanks guys. As long as it’s not photo-radar, I’m good. That’s my stomping grounds, stay away Will do - turkey season ended for me today, so I won’t be through there much until next season. I figured that was the reason. Holler and we will grab some lunch one day.
