Does the inside of your egg mildew? Mine will even if I clean it and use it once a week.
O do a hot burn after I finish cooking bit it still will be mildewed when l open it after about a week.
Hints and suggestions?

There is no reason to burn it after you cook. Cap it and then you will have coals left over. When you light it the next time run it up to 700 for 10 minutes before you cook and it will clean the mildew out of it.

I do that. I have been burning it after cooking to see if I can keep the mildew out, get it hot and cap it. The mildew just looks bad

Are you cooking with a pan of some type of liquid to flavor the meat, a water pan? I used to get mildew but after stopping with the water pan I found it has stopped. Must have been residual moisture from the liquid. I actually like the flavor without a water pan better.

Try a smokeware cap. I haven’t had mildew since I started using it.

I’ve had mine since 1998, I’ve never had any issues with mildew or mold. I keep mine under my back porch.

After it cools off completely following a cook, crack the draft door vent about 2 inches and open the daisy wheel a little so air flows through the grill when not in use.
