The badmitton racket works good and is fun. For the ultimate challenge (or the shy ones that refuse to come within reach) I will break out the pellet rifle. Don't have to pump it up very much. Make sure you are shooting in a safe direction and have fun.

Sometimes I post (What I think is) really funny stuff and I wonder if anyone even notices. grin

Of course a lot of stuff seems funny when you've had a couple of beers. grin

Heck. I went to bed last night at about 2130.

"Early to bed. Early to rise." Does something for a man. I don't know what it is though.

I got into them with my daughters red ryder last summer after having a few cold pops. I think I bagged 6 in a matter of an hour or so. It was a blast.

Round 1 - Carburetor Cleaner will kill them faster than wasp spray. Take the little red extension tube and run it up in the hole and give it a good soaking. That will keep them out of the hole for the rest of the season and kill whatever is in there. It is kinda like yellow jackets do it at night when they are in the hole. You'll knock a serious dent in the population.

Round 2 - The preventative maintenance is a couple of traps. I do not know how to permanently get rid of them apparently whatever they treat wood with these days doesn't bother them they'll bore a hole right into a piece of treated lumber.

I bought a new grill about 2 weeks ago. Went to cook on it last night and there was sawdust on the front table right below the handle. Little bastard had bored a hole and was chilling inside. They don't like PB Blaster.

Do carpenter bees measure to the 1/32 of an inch?

Depends of if you measure length or beam.

I have put out 6 traps and have probably gotten rid of over 150 bees in less than a month. I had one little bastage bore a hole in the bottom of a wooden rocking chair on the deck. Could not believe it.

Cynoff dust in the hole I think it's a 3/8 dowel rod that fits perfectly wood putty over them. Preventive measure is to spray the fence with something like talstar p to repel them. I bet ive fixed a million of those holes
