Get in the woods this morning and the only turkey I hear is way too far off to go to. Sit down and blind called for a while. Nothing (surprise, NOT!). Moved about a quarter mile to a greenfield and called and nothing. On the way back out I changed a card in a camera that was covering a dusting spot in the road. Get home and a longbeard and a jake were in front of the camera 8 minutes before I got there. Camera was between the two spots I called from. No way they were headed to the first spot because of terrain. He never made a sound at daylight or up until 8:00.

I love trying to kill one but dadgum, they kind of have to gobble once in a while to give you a chance to set up. Of course I did get a pic of some yahoo and his kid riding a four wheeler through yesterday afternoon about 3:30. Sure that didn't help.

Good luck. But was the turkey you first heard off the property line? I've never heard one too far away unless he across the prop line!

They've been very inconsiderate lately.

I'm still a newb turkey hunter, but it seems like they have almost shutdown everywhere this season.

The only one that hasn't shut down is the one across from my house he gobbles all the time, the other night he was gobbling a 7:30 pm, I guess he knows I can't hunt him, the ones at the club have the lockjaw most of the time...
