If you're gonna do a small trap i think you're going to educate 5 hogs for every one you catch and make them trap shy.

I THINK a better idea is get several hog panels (like cattle panels but they have smaller holes in bottom to keep little pigs from escaping) and find a shady spot in some trees and kind of brush in a larger trap. Put a root or swing style door and brush it on real well but don't set it to close until you've prebaited a couple weeks and given them time to get used to it and going in and out. Set up a game cam to get an idea how many are using it and how often. Set it and go back in a day and then every day. Law requires that I believe. Good luck.

From what I'm told a small trap just makes hog problems worse.

No pics, but the dimensions are: 1/8" x 96". You can buy them prebuilt for $35 a dozen. They can be adjusted to catch any size hog you want. They are the cheapest, easiest to set and most versatile hog trap made. They're called snares.

No thanks. I will take my yager pro. I have never seen 38 hogs in a snare at one time.

The Yeager pro and other remotely activated pen traps are great, but not everyone can spend thousands of dollars on hog control. Snares are a very cheap and effective trap that will catch the whole sounder at a fraction of the cost of a pen style trap. They can be made deer proof and will catch old trap shy hogs that won't come near a pen style trap. Nothing about a wild hog appeals to me. I don't care anything about hunting them and don't want them on my place. They tear up roads and food plots and compete with deer and turkey for a limited amount of resources. I want to remove them as cheap and as quick as I possibly can. I don't want to see them on camera or shoot them day or night, I just want them gone. I can't think of a better way to achieve my goal than snares.

Aren't snares illegal in Alabama?

Land set snares are illegal. He’s gotta be catching them in the water.
