Picked up a bow for GomerJr to learn to shoot.....got a brand new Bear Cruze Lite RTH package for $26 (you read that right), marked down from $260, thanks to a cousin who gets an employee discount on closeout items where he works.
Only "catch" is the riser is neon yellow. I know it doesn't really matter for learning purposes, but assuming he got good enough to possibly hunt with it, I'd like to spray it flat black. Question is, do I need to do any special prep to make sure the paint sticks? It's a kinda slick finish right now, but really don't wanna have to sand the whole thing....hoping I can just clean it with alcohol and then prime and paint with matte black spray paint.
Am I overthinking this? Thoughts?

Just clean it up good and rattle can it then hit it with a coat of clear.
