She now lives outside but comes scratching at the door every morning for treats and some loving on. This morning, she grabbed my candy bar that was lying on the table and ran right back out the door with it and down into the woods! It was so funny and I couldn't catch her! 😂 My 11 year old son is not happy that I've banned squirrel hunting anywhere near the house. Last edited by AlabamaHuntress; 03/28/18 08:50 AM. They last about 2weeks and die. Had my heart broke by a bunch of little squirrels. My wife and i agreed it would be best if i quit bringing them home. It just hurts too much. Did manage to keep a grown flying squirrel for a year or so. Hed bite the piss out of you every time you touched him. At the time we had boarding and batting walls, if he ever got loose he could run on the walls and ceiling jost like the floor. Hard to catch.
