They are finally starting to act right around here in Barbour County! I thought they had forgotten how to gobble for a while. Happy hunting fellas!

Hopefully they will start acting right in Russell co. My place has been dead and almost devoid of tracks so far this year. I'm hoping they have started breaking up and some will move back in from where ever they have gone to. If not, then .....corn.

Good to hear. I saw almost no sign on my places down there last weekend. That one bird on Friday was the only one that gobbled on property I could hunt in 3 days. Kinda has me worried about the population down there. Everybody I know around there said there isn't hardly any sign this year.

Join the club I don't know hardly any places that are not suffering from the lowest populations in decades

It's very odd. I walked miles and miles of sandy roads. Saw two sets of tracks. Last year there were tracks everywhere. Typically would hear 3-6 birds on my property From any given point and several more off it. Planted a bunch of chufa this year and the dang turkeys are gone. Meanwhile, my Lamar county place is loaded and my Jefferson county place is bouncing back from a slow few years. Guess it's just the ebb and flow of turkey populations.

I sure hope it's ebb and flow but think it may just be the new normal. 1 good year then 5-6 bad yrs then 1 decent yr then 5 or 6.bad yrs
