Will clear your sinus in nothing flat. I love it on sushi and the burn that comes with it. It hits after you chew and then the burn, then the sinus cavity opens and you need a napkin for what comes outta your head GREAT STUFF

I love it. I mix it in with my soy sauce and dip the sushi in it.

However, the wasabi in the states really isn’t wasabi but green colored horseradish. The real deal is super expensive and only in high end places.

Went on a date with a gal one time to a Chinese place. We got our order and I stuck a hot eggroll
deep down into some of that hot mustard. I honestly thought they were gonna have to call 911.
Every time I exhaled it felt like jet fumes coming out of my nose. I couldn't speak, I couldn't breathe,
my eyes were on fire. When I finally got to where I could breathe, it was like reverse dry heaves, like
I was hyper ventilating.
I told them they seriously needed to put a warning on that stuff!!!

Go to a Thai restaurant and tell them you want your food Thai hot. There's hot and then there is Thai hot.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Love wasabi and soy sauce.
It burns and leaves, so you can do it again.

God Bless,

I don't think we eat real Wasabi here. It's mainly just green horseradish. The real deal is in Japan.

Love it. Wasabi, soy and ginger with fresh tuna. Hard to beat.

Mix that yellow mustard 50/50 with soy sauce in a cup then dip your meat in there. Sinus clean out

Ever eat them Wasabi covered peas? Some people claim its edible.
I spit it out in the floor the first time, and only time I tried.

haleyville al,
I asked my mother in-law if she had tried it. She hadn't so I talked her into trying it. She got the normal amount I told her that's not enough to taste. She put a fork full in her mouth. Her fiancé and I laughed so hard we were crying. She drank every glass on the table. I felt bad because I wasn't going to let her really do it but she had no hesitation. Lol

Yep. I go to an oriental grocery store and get the real stuff. When I lived in Texas, my neighbors grand kids were always coming over to my shop. They would raid my shop fridge for snacks and soft drinks. One day I was out there munching on wasabi almonds. Of course they had to try them. It was worth a few almonds just to see the expressions on their face. I call it my BhamFred moment.

In the traditional presentation, sushi and sashimi is not eaten with soy and 'wasabi' and especially not mixed for dipping. That is an American bastardization that started with the sushi craze 25 years ago because of the "Ewww, raw fish?" responses. Japanese sushi is considered an art. Sushi masters and those who create it think those of us who use soy and 'wasabi' are uncouth morons. The art of cutting the fish, preparing the rice and presenting the finished product is steeped in centuries of tradition.

This is a great book about sushi and its history: The Story of Sushi: An Unlikely Saga of Raw Fish and Rice, by Trevor Corson

That said, I like the soy and wasabi now and then. I don't eat sushi often because I'd spend too much money on it. My son and I went here in Huntspatch one night and I think the bill for us was $60-plus.

The real stuff grows wild in Japan. It is much better, IMHO, than the horseradish substitute we get here. People in Japan don't make a 'soup' of wasabi and shoyu (soy sauce) and dip their sushi in it. That is considered impolite, as is breaking apart disposable hashi (chopsticks) and rubbing them together, also impolite. If you really want to get Japanese people stirred up, stick a pair of chopsticks upright in a bowl of white rice. It's something done at funerals, and it's very creepy to do out in public.
