I've always told both my kids, a good work ethic is everything. Give 100% whatever you're doing. You do this and chances are, you will be successful in life.

I've been lucky. Both listened to me and are doing good so far in their young 20's.

1. Treat the ladies the same way you hope a young man will treat your daughter(s) one day. Then, when you find a young lady that is humble, has a good sense of humor, and loves the Lord, marry her.
2. Once married, fight for that marriage fiercely. Don’t let anyone or anything wedge itself between you and the Mrs. There isn’t a thing in this world more valuable than a good wife.
3. Remind yourself daily that you were put here for a reason. Live life with a purpose.

Believe nothing you hear, only half of what you see, and nothing off the interwebs sites.

Tell the truth, i dont care if it hurts you or costs you a few dollars, tell the truth. A mans name is all hes got at times and his name will live on long after hes gone. If youll lie for a dollar, youd lie for anything, for Gods sake tell the truth. No its not just business, if youve got to lie to do business, you suck at your business.

My grandpa said to me when I was very young,”Son, you may never be rich but you will own your name - it’s the only thing the world can’t take from you - but if you damage it there’s not enough money in the world to fix it.”

I’ve shared that statement with my son many times and with many other people.

I’ve tried my best to be honest, faithful to God, loving towards my wife and family, a good friend, and a good citizen. I’m far from perfect and I have failed at all of those despite my best efforts. But, my name is intact and undamaged.

You should all know by now that there is no real winner in a fight, only losers to different degrees. That being said you should also know, "The only fair fight is one that I won". In other words, if after you have exhausted all other options you find yourself in a fight anyway, you do whatever it takes to protect yourself. If someone is pulverizing you with his fists, bite him, kick him in the nads, throw sand in his eyes, or grab a tire iron if you can. If he is about to stick you with a knife, shoot the SOB. For myself, when it's over and I'm able to stand up, dust my old butt off, and walk away with my health intact, it was a fair fight.

Be on time. Be where you are suppose to be when you said you will be there.

Be a man of your word, some folks may not like you but they will respect you

Don't expect to get paid like a man with 20 years experience when you only have one.

This is very good advice for the world we live in.

Prepare to be able to fend for yourself. Food, water, shelter, etc. That day is coming

There will always be someone smarter, faster, etc., than you. But remember: In all lifes adversities, there lie the seeds of an equal are greater opportunity..just gotta look for it.

don't worry about saving too much money when your young and broke, just stay out of debt. I saved and lived frugal and now my savings aint worth a hill of beans compared to what I make now.

don't worry about always having to carry a gun. ive been in situations and can tell you that two legs is better than any gun you can buy.

don't go out with anyone you wouldn't marry.

don't work too much, your time now is more valuable than money.
