Present. I'm usually good for 3 a year. Looks like I'll only be hunting in Alabama this year. Bibb and Macon county mostly. Hope y'all turkey hunt more than you post or this team is gonna suck. All spikes with lest than 50 post expect me and jbatey
I’m more of a reader on here should be good for my 3 usually hunt Kentucky and Alabama but may not make it to Kentucky this year. Heading out in the morning to take my nephew hoping he can get his first.
I’ve got 2 properties that I’ll be hunting. Both in Alabama. I’m real excited about hunting my wifes Family property. I had 5 big gobblers, with beards dragging the ground, walk by me in deer season.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.
I’m here! I just got back from south Florida and killed a pretty good bird down there last Thursday. Looking forward to Thursday morning here in Bama. Going to be a bloodbath of a season I do believe!
Checking in. I actually won’t get to hunt Bama as much as I’d like but I’ll be hitting Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and possibly Kansas. Good luck fellas.

Ok looks like I'll be the weak link Team name? Wattle Wigglers
Good luck in the morning fellas. It’s going to be a chilly start. I agree with jbatey in that we gotta get this name thing put to bed so we can get on the board.
I had one burning it up from daylight till 9 but I couldn’t get to him with my dad due to terrain. He just turned 70 and I kept thinking, I finally understand all those years that he took me hunting as a tot and I was slowing him down now the shoe is on the other foot. I did exactly what he always did with me. We sat and watched the woods wake up with the sunrise and just talked about old times, kids, and made another memory. I bet that bird gobbled 40 times and I firmly believe he was ready to meet his maker but I wouldn’t take back not going to him for anything.
Tomorrow morning is a different story. He better enjoy the sunshine today because I plan to slip in his bedroom in the morning.
Sounds like a good hunt chief. I called in a gobbler 3 years ago for my dad and it was his first. One of my favorite hunting trips ever. I'll be at it this weekend. I may not be first on the trigger with my wife and a buddy coming with me to the farm, but there should be a couple of birds to fool with if the weather allows.
Watched a bird die not even 20 minutes after daylight on opening morning! Watched another one die this morning with another buddy of mine. Both birds were their first birds! I think it is safe to say both of them are hooked on turkey hunting for life now haha. I’m still trying to figure out how to load pictures on here. If anyone has any advice on how to upload them from an IPhone I would appreciate it! I’m goin to try my luck behind the trigger in the morning when I get off work if it’s not flooding rain. Good luck fellas!

IMGUR.com was the easiest way for me. There was a thread on here somewhere explaining how to do it.

There is a thread on here but easiest way is postimages.org then click choose images then allow it acces to your photo library pic the pic you want and when it downloads scroll down and there’s an option for hotlink to forum click the small image at the end and it will copy come to the forum here and just paste the link
Well I got on the bird from Thursday again yesterday morning. He was strutting with a hen in a field over the property line. There was a beaver pond between me and him. I got him fired up and he walked to the edge of the water gobbling like crazy but the hen came in and changed his mind before he could even think about pitching over to my side. I sent a text to the club owner and come to find out the bird was on his uncles land and he has permission to hunt it. We’re meeting at the gate in the morning and going to try to put him down before church.
Well the skunk continues for me. Sat up on him with the property owner and here comes another club member who is green to turkey hunting driving down the road the bird had roosted on. The road is supposed to be foot traffic only and the guy was in the wrong area. To say the least we weren’t thrilled to watch him sail off into the woods. I’ll be back after them next weekend. Headed to church.
Congrats teammates! My wife missed a bird this weekend and that was the only one I was able to get on. Kinda slow weekend on our place. Only heard 3 gobbles. Unfortunately it'll prob be 7-10 days before I can hunt again.
I’ll be there headed to choccolocco wma in the morning been a while since they’ve kicked my butt there depending on how that goes will dictate my location of hunting Sunday but i will be somewhere trying to kill one of these walnut sized brain birds
If y’all see the struggle bus cruising around y’all stop it and say hi ...I’m driving.
Thanks it’s been a good season so far I’ve been in the woods 4 times and killed 2. I’ll keep my eye out but won’t be long and you will get off that bus. They haven’t got going good yet when they do it should get fun.
Farm I hunted this morning is notoriously good but didn’t hear a single gobble. I saw two hens in sepererate areas all alone. Makes me wonder if the honeymoon is already over and the fellas are out carousing other prospects.
Keep it up! I'm already worried about not being able to keep pace with y'all! I'll try hard as phuck, but can't skip out on work and family as much as I used to.

I can't stand it any more. I'm gonna hit some public land in the morning before work. Haven't scouted or even driven by where I want to hunt. I hope there is still woods there lol.

Good luck it will be Friday before i make it back out but i should be able to go Friday-Sunday
Got on a bird yesterday morning to have a guy come in on me and tried to yelp him to death bird shut up and left i gave him another couple hours and never heard him again. Went back yesterday evening seen a couple hens and that was it. Went again this morning and got a little closer than i wanted to be and didn’t realize it until it was too late pretty sure he knew something was up but had another bird come in silent until he got to about 60 yards and gobbled twice to my left and a little behind me got turned a little before i seen him he started making his way to me got to about 40 yards and needed him to clear one more tree and when he went behind it i got ready and he never came out the other side just went away and worked toward the bird that is still in the tree in front of me about 120 yards. I start watching the bird in the tree and he’s strutting up and down the limb and he drops out of the tree and the two start flogging the heck out of each other. Was a pretty neat experience but that’s where it ended never got anything else going
Way to go AKB those are some beautiful birds with some sho nuff ropes on them. I couldn't get it done on public this weekend. Got close but couldn't close the deal.

Made it out this morning had one gobble one time set up and did some light calling after i heard one pitch down gave it an hour never seen or heard that one again heard another gobble a few times a lot further off but same direction so decided to try to cut the distance made it about 120 yards and blew one out of the tree. Kinda hurt to see the beard hanging as he was flying off never heard the other again. All i ended up with was a ticket from the gw because my stupid self threw the gun in the back seat put everything else up and never unloaded it.

Well fellas I have been unsuccessful in killing a Bama bird. Due to work and military duty I only got to hunt 4 times. Hoping the run of bad luck changes as I’m on the road to Wyoming now. Hitting Nebraska on Sunday and Oklahoma next Wednesday. Hopefully I can pull my weight for the team. I’ll be checking in.

Good luck! Sounds like a good time are you using an outfitter or public land I’m starting to look into venturing out next season would like to get a Merriam
I’m on the board boys!! Killed a Merriam yesterday afternoon. Weighed 20.5 lbs, exactly 1 inch spurs, and an 8.5 inch beard. Tips are as white as snow. I’ll get some pics up when service allows. As soon as the other two in my group kill we’re rolling to Nebraska.
Killed 2 more merriams in Nebraska. One was pretty short in the spur department. I’m in Oklahoma now hoping to kill a rio with some good hooks. I’ll get pics and scores up when I get back in next week.
Was a tough season i Was fortunate to get my 3 but i to am done i won’t be traveling any this year. As always i enjoyed keeping up with everyone’s hunts and look forward to next season
Is last place good? RJA never made a post in the team thread so we played a man down. jbatey you ever get one? It looks like the other 3 guys killed their 3 but didn’t post them in the points thread. By my count and what’s been posted on this thread we only had 10 turkeys for points.
We should be better than last place everyone just hasn’t posted their kills to the kill thread i guess need to get them posted up and see where we fall
