If I remember I'll bring a pig squealer with me. I don't remember the brand but it mimics a little pig. I have had several instances over the years where I shot a pig or two in a group and then hit that squealer a few times and got a big sow circling back right to where they were. It works best if there are already little pigs in the group. I have not had success calling them in from a distance, though.

Once when i was hunting around Chilton (Scotch property) on some land my buddy had leased. I had 2 sows and a big boar come out, well i shot the big boar, and the 2 sows ran off. I then took my Tru Talker grunt and let out some loud but deep grunts, and i be danged if one of the sows didn't come back and i put her butt down too lol. Anyways that's the only time that i can say i called a pig...

The only success I have had is a grunt call used to call the little ones up after I have shot the sow. It works great. Never had any luck with the distress calls or cold calling. I have used the grunt call with a little success where I get on hogs in thick cover and call them to the edge.

I've had success with the grunt call but not a squealer.
