I've had some pretty crappy days fishing in the rain but on the other hand some of the best days I've had where in really bad weather. For instance the best stripe trip I had last year the wind was a steady 20 mph with gusts over 50mph and was coming a flood and I wore em out on top water but I just about didn't go . what has y'alls experience been?

Well, they are already wet.
I don't think it's the rain so much as it is the lower amount of boat traffic and them being more active on cloudy days.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Rain and overcast cut down on light penetration. They are usually super on bodies of water that are clear. Tuscaloosa, Martin, Smith would be my choices for rainy days. Yes, fish do bite better on rainy days.

I think so, due to the low pressure.

Back when I lived in Florida, the best fishing I ever had was on overcast days with light rainfall.

We were out in a storm like that on martin last year stripe fishing. We just trolled back and forth under the bridge to stay out of rain. It was coming sideways Damn, Thats coming down!

I’ve caught plenty of fish in the rain. My best days were usually overcast mornings right before a storm moves in.

Short answer, yes. If the conditions are right this time of year, a drop in pressure followed by a good rain will aggravate them into coming up and feeding. I think it has more to do with pressure and overcast skies. In the summer a good rain storm and I’m burning a spinnerbait or a buzzbait until it stops.
