I don't think a non-resident should pay any more than a resident.
For anything, including a hunting license.
For example, a man who grew up in Alabama, still owns property in Alabama, but moved to another state because of his work.

Had a contractor in our plant from south bama once . We got to talking about deer hunting and he began to Bîtch about what he called "coastes" causing the price of leases to increase in his area etc . Then he went on to talk about how he liked hunting the Midwest so much . So I asked . What do you think them boys up in the Midwest think about folks from bama hunting in their neck of the woods ? That mfer gave me the most puzzled look and said he never even thought about that . This tickled me cuz the whole conversation got started after he asked me about trading some offshore fishing for a hunt in the ol woodpecker stand . Lol .

I believe voting should be limited to white male property owners.

I agree that it needs to be a simple law, Legal or not, no more gray areas.

But if they cant make it a simple statement about it being legal they should do the sticker on a feeder like a house trailer has. It will get complicated quick if one person in a club (or a neighbor) puts out corn and then someone gets a ticket because of it. If it is done as a licence for the person I guess I will buy one even though I dont bait just so I would be safe.


I have a stand in the edge of a pasture that has timber on 3 sides. Two sides are not my property, and about mid January I was sitting there and at 3pm I could hear a feeder go off in the woods (not on my property). I could hear the spinner and also hear the corn hitting the legs of the feeder. I have no idea how far away it was so I might not have been legal. The only way for me to know would have been to trespass to measure it. I didnt leave my stand that day and was willing to pay an undeserved ticket if I had received one. But I did not go back to that stand because I dont want a ticket. The neighbor should not be able to do something that reduces the places on my property I can hunt.

If they did the sticker on the feeder and the GW finds one without a sticker he should be allowed to destroy it like a moonshine still. But the possibilities of feeders on the other side of a property line could make this complicated. Would be much easier if they just said it was legal, but that would not enable the state to make any money and that is what it is all about.

I don't think it will die in the Senate this time around. Too many states have legalized hunting over bait all around us and Alabama doesn't benefit at all from keeping out of state hunters from getting the opportunity to hunt over bait like they do in Kentucky, Georgia and Mississippi. Time for Alabama to catch up to the rest of them.

I don't agree with it at all but if they pass as predicted, I guess I will have to learn to live with it. I run a club, and I have considered not allowing it even if it passes but you have to keep members to pay the lease. Decisions will have to be made about planting food plots for sure.

We need to do whatever Kentucky does. They let you hunt near feed and they got great hunting. You can’t turkey hunt near it. You’ll notice I called it feed and not bait. Recommend y’all follow that terminology.
